Hotel Regina
THE STORY OF A TIMELESS HOTEL IN BARCELONA THAT HAS CONSTANTLY REINVENTED ITSELF FOR OVER A CENTURY
Regina’s story is a story of reinvention. From royal entourages to famous artists, its walls have seen it all. A hotel where every stay is a timeless experience. An indulgence of fresh ideas, classic tastes and new beginnings. A stay at Regina is a stay that stays with you.
This inspired the development of a unique and authentic concept at the heart of our rebranding: “Reinvent yourself, stay timeless”.
I worked together with Dennis Studio to rebrand this historic hotel. The hotel owners were practically born there, with the business being in the family since 1957. So it was really important to respect the history of the hotel while ensuring that it appealed to younger generations. Big part of the strategy makes an effort to position the hotel as ‘old is cool’.
That is also reflected in the whole new visual identity that captures the establisment’s legacy while adding a modern sparkle that today’s guests will connect with.

To accompany the simple and elegant wordmark, an iconic symbol was developed to celebrate the hotel’s history and it’s distinguishable façade.
Custom numbers were designed for signage and wayfinding, inspired by the numbers that appear on the façade of the hotel.
Every touchpoint was considered with great attention to detail, especially for copywriting where the brand claim of “Reinvent yourself, Stay timeless” remains a constant thread throughout.
In over 100 years at Regina, nobody has said no to a drink at Gina’s, the fun loving lobby bar of Hotel Regina. Like the hotel, the identity is inspired by curiosities uncovered in the archives, updated for modern day audiences in order to attract locals and tourtists alike.
